This is specifically for any site that has an Exchange service with a self-signed certificate.


Outlook will not connect to a server remotely if the certificate is deemed invalid. In majority of cases in a small business environment, Self-signed certificates are deemed invalid when outside the local network.


  1. Log into the Remote Web Workplace of the server - eg: https://remote.someone.com.au/remote
  2. Once logged in, go to the Shared Folders:

     

  3. Then to Public -> Downloads then click to download the "Install Certificate Package.zip"

  4. Extract this on the local PC and run the installer selecting to 'Install on the local computer'.

  5. On completion, you can proceed with a normal Outlook Exchange manual setup.
